Strategic Market Manager – Seed – Toowoomba - FILLED BY US!

Who will you work for?
This business specialises in research and development, marketing, extension and distribution of proprietary pasture and forage seeds, cropping, turf and seed enhancement technology. They have a strong research and development focus with significant programs being conducted across various sites in Australia.

The role itself?
Reporting to the Strategic Marketing and Innovation Manager and working across all functions of the business, you will be responsible for leading the business’ market driven strategy and aligning the portfolio with their customer needs. Your day to day activities in this role will include:

  • Develop, revise and execute long term market strategies based on a deep understanding of current and emerging market needs

  • Proactively manage product portfolio with the objective of meeting market needs whilst maximising the financial return to the business

  • Work with key internal stakeholders to identify which tools are required for marketing campaigns to be successful (ie training, tech guides, sales tools, trial data etc); development of product-first marketing material

  • Manager will lead the development of agronomic/systems-based material

  • Lead respective crop teams to support the development of market strategies and drive advocacy across the business

  • Manage key commercial relationships with third parties which are relevant to the portfolio

  • Lead the negotiation of any licensing agreements within portfolio. This includes being the primary point of contact for external parties, linking with market and financial objectives, governance and overall compliance with the business’ DoA

  • As a key member of the IBP Team, provide leadership and directional oversight of the portfolio aspirations; and support the alignment to sales forecast and supply plan

  • Coach and mentor the domestic and international sales teams to educate on key business drivers that impact supply thereby maximising revenue / profitability potential

What kind of person will fit the role?
The perfect person for this role would be someone with tertiary agricultural science or marketing qualifications and previous experience in managing rural products/portfolios. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with seed products.
