Cropping Manager - Mixed Farming - North West Victoria - ON HOLD!

Who will you work for?
This is a unique, new and fast-growing agriculture company on behalf of a joint venture with Australian and International investors. With a diverse range of properties located throughout the Western and Northern parts of Victoria, the partnership aims to expand into all parts of Australia by building a portfolio of agricultural assets producing grains, wool and livestock.
The role itself?
Reporting to the Farm Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Day to day running on the farm
Working with the Machinery Manager to schedule machinery maintenance along with the work load on farms.
Assisting with employee work performance
Operating machinery
Liaising with COO and Machinery Manager to prepare quotes for new machinery
Managing maintenance schedules for farm equipment – Farm Machinery Manager program with the Machinery Manager
Managing machinery maintenance for peak times such as seeding, spaying, spreading and harvest.
Being aware of current laws of moving machinery on roads and insure that all staff and machinery are complaint, including flags, signs etc
Managing inventory and stock control for machinery
Implementing workplace health and safety procedures
Performing and assigning duties to farm hands/casuals
Ensure that OH&S obligations are implemented and adhered to by team members
What kind of person will fit the role?
The perfect person for this role will have qualifications in either ag science, logistics or business management, as well as proven experience in irrigation, cropping, machinery or farm management. As you will be working as part of an established management team, it is extremely important that you have an ability to communicate, collaborate and lead.
