The role itself?
Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful person will need to:
Maintain all Plant & Machinery to operational efficiency
Responsible for the general maintenance tasks around the factory
Check and maintain production line machinery and carry out minor repairs, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work
Basic welding skills for small fabrications
Order parts & maintain stock levels of spare parts
Fitting fabricated metal parts onto equipment, products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies
Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
Diagnose & fault finding of mechanical pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and low voltage electrical faults
Carry out maintenance of plant and equipment by repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components
Ensure compliance with OH&S standards within the workshop
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and implement new strategies to maintain and improve output
Respond to vehicle/ plant & machinery breakdown service calls
What kind of person will fit the role?
To be considered for this position:
Extensive experience in repair, maintenance of plant & equipment and related mechanical components
Skills in various welding techniques & small fabrication
Current Drivers License
Experience in performing scheduled maintenance services
Demonstrated functional/technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high level
Communicates effectively to provide accurate and relevant information and service provision
Prioritises and uses time effectively in order to deliver on a broad range of activities/projects
Hands on approach with strong practical skills
Computer literacy
