The role itself?
Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful person will need to:

  • Maintain all Plant & Machinery to operational efficiency

  • Responsible for the general maintenance tasks around the factory

  • Check and maintain production line machinery and carry out minor repairs, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work

  • Basic welding skills for small fabrications

  • Order parts & maintain stock levels of spare parts

  • Fitting fabricated metal parts onto equipment, products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies

  • Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments

  • Diagnose & fault finding of mechanical pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and low voltage electrical faults

  • Carry out maintenance of plant and equipment by repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components

  • Ensure compliance with OH&S standards within the workshop

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and implement new strategies to maintain and improve output

  • Respond to vehicle/ plant & machinery breakdown service calls

What kind of person will fit the role?
To be considered for this position:

  • Extensive experience in repair, maintenance of plant & equipment and related mechanical components

  • Skills in various welding techniques & small fabrication

  • Current Drivers License

  • Experience in performing scheduled maintenance services

  • Demonstrated functional/technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high level

  • Communicates effectively to provide accurate and relevant information and service provision

  • Prioritises and uses time effectively in order to deliver on a broad range of activities/projects

  • Hands on approach with strong practical skills

  • Computer literacy
