Who will you work for?
This  growing rural business offers a world-leading precision agriculture intelligence platform that uses sophisticated computer vision, data science and deep learning algorithms to effectively monitor fields. They add value to producers through a full-stack solution for high precision aerial surveillance imagery to prevent crop yield loss due to insects, disease, weeds, and nutrient deficiencies.     

The role itself?
This is an opportunity to work out of a home office base and service farmers (customers) across local growing regions. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, self-driven, part-time agronomist with a passion for Precision Ag to work with our operations manager to scale sales and create a growth-oriented business model within Australia. Your day to day activities in this role will include:

  • Clearly setting expectations with client’s pre-season and follow up during the season

  • Managing, developing, and fostering relationships with retailers, co-ops and independent crop consultants within Australia

  • Working closely with the Operations manager

  • Delivering webinars and training to clients about the Taranis Platform

  • Developing a yearly, quarterly, and weekly workable sales plan for Australia

  • Problem solving and offering solutions to your customers

  • Identifying business opportunities with both new and existing customers

  • Developing and maintaining close customer relations with key clients by providing professional agronomic service and advice

  • Arranging and coordinating technical and marketing activities, these may include field days, farmer meetings and demonstrations

What kind of person will fit the role?
It is vital that you have tertiary qualifications in agricultural science and/or agronomy. It is important that you have at least 3 years experience as an agronomist in Australia or New Zealand. We are going to employ a person that has a proven ability to establish, maintain and develop relationships that will lead to high levels of farmer support and the on-going improvement of the business.
